O slave of the body, how long will you toil in its service?
Are you seeking profit in that in which there is loss;
Turn to the soul and perfect its virtues;
For you – through the soul not the body – are human.
Much of Habib’s message here has revolved around this meaning of directing our attention to developing and nurturing our souls rather than just manipulating inanimate, plant and animal life, which is what anyone whether pure or corrupt can do, whereas the unique distinction of the believer is this spiritual growth. Those other three types of creatures are made to serve that aim, not to be served like an aim.
There is a whole lot of audio and we hope to post much of it up on this blog, in sha Allah. Have some beautiful, Afro, Asian, Haddadi dhikrs to share as well.

Did not attend Sharif al-Anam, but the mawlids in general are very nice. Habib said the Ratib was just a symbol and there was much more beyond that.
