As-salamu alaykum,
The following clip is a talk given by Habib Umar during his recent visit to what was predominantly a group of school children.
The talk emphasizes two critical elements of rearing of children (tarbiya): (1) intention, the Hadrami scholars say of their ancestors that they would teach children to make intentions just as they would teach them the Fatiha; (2) Comportment/ manners (adab).
However, as those who listen to this admonition will see, the content is relevant to all of us and after this talk we actually told him we were kids.
