NOTE: The Dawrah and Rawhah Livestreaming

  • بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم

We pray this finds everyone well and in the highest of spiritual states, in sha Allah.

We are pleased to announce that the annual summer Dawrah has begun in Tarim and for the next month or so there is a daily Rawhah with Habib `Umar bin Hafiz (Allah preserve him and benefit us by him) that takes place at around Asr time (16:30 Makkah, which is on GMT+3, click here to convert to your time zone).

In sha Allah the Rawhah is livestreamed via Habib `Umar’s website and translation will be available on the English translation channel.

Please note that a media player, i.e. RealPlayer, QuickTime, Windows MP or VLC, will be needed in order to access the translation channel. Kindly click on the ‘File’ menu, select “Open Network”/”Open URL”/ “Open Location”, and paste: mms://198.64.249.204/mahabbah on the address bar. The channel will function once the Arabic transmission has begun. Further, due to connectivity issues, you may have to regularly refresh the page whenever the sound cuts off.

At this year’s Dawrah, Sayyidi Habib `Umar (may Allah preserve him) will continue covering the commentary which he began three years ago on Qut al-Qulub, Imam Abu Talib al-Makki’s foundational work in the science of Tasawwuf. He will also comment on “the Counsel,” a poem by Shaykh `Abd al-Rahman bin `Ali Ba `Alawi (may Allah be well-pleased with him and sanctify his secrets). Using the book and the poem, Habib `Umar lays out the foundations which every seeker needs on the path to Allah. He emphasizes the importance of sincerity in seeking spiritual process during these lessons and often repeats that by reading the words of these great scholars.

You can download “The Counsel” and a brief biography of Shaykh `Abd al-Rahman bin `Ali Ba `Alawi here. May it be of benefit, in sha Allah.

May Allah Most High grant us all manifold openings and allow us to benefit from and follow these blessed gems in our lives. Especially for those who are unable to attend the Dawrah in person, may you be written amongst those who are in attendance.

    BarakAllahufikum.
